‘From Where I Begin’ incorporates movement and sound to create an immersive sensory experience. Drawing upon references to the Pietà this work explores the individual as well as the collective experience of maternal grief, loss and trauma.

At this moment in history it is impossible to be impervious to the suffering of mothers as we see this trauma enacted on a monumental scale. A personal, collective and cultural grief which defies comprehension. Grief is experienced in the body and through choreography and videography I use the body, movement and form to make visible the way we carry this with us. And the way in which we try and find shape and meaning within its cloak.
